St. Clement of Rome Parish, Metairie
of Challenge Funds Remaining
St. Clement of Rome Parish was founded on August 14, 1965 by Fr. Blaise Vosbein, a priest from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Our school was opened on August 28, 1968 by a group of Presentation Sisters from Ireland. The first Mass was celebrated with 596 parishioners in attendance. We now have over 2,000 registered families. The school, which opened its doors to 365 students, now has on average around 550. Our parish began to thrive from the start. Many parishioners lovingly invested much of their time and effort. SCR quickly became a deeply spiritual community that prided itself in great service to God and neighbor. Today we are so pleased to have a vibrant parish that prayerfully celebrates beautiful liturgies and serves its members and the local community.
